While I have no idea who started
this, I have been asked to participate in this Character Tag Blog Tour by Brynn
Stein at http://brynnstein2.wordpress.com/2014/07/14/.
She has passed the Character-tag questions to me and I’ll pass it on to Brandon
Witt
at https://www.facebook.com/brandon.witt.author?ref_type=bookmark
Here are the questions.
1. What is the name of your
character? Is he/she fictional or a historic person?
My main character is Death. And when
I say Death, I mean, the physical embodiment of Death. Some people may prefer
to call him the Grim Reaper. And since I am still alive and therefore have not
yet met the Grim Reaper, my depiction of him is strictly fictional.
2. When and where is the story set?
The story is set in the present. The
majority of the book is set in either New York City or in Death’s home. But I
can’t tell you too much about that yet.
3. What should we know about
him/her?
Death is a total nerd. Death is also
very well-versed in human culture. As a result, he likes the Power Rangers and
Spongebob Squarepants. He also has a Playstation so he can keep up with his
video games. In addition, Death has a bit of a problem keeping his mouth shut
and he likes to ramble on about things. But despite his flaws and
eccentricities, he is very lovable. And that is something he learns in the
story.
4. What is the main conflict? What
messes up his/her life?
In a word: Tommy. Humans aren’t
supposed to see Death, but Tommy can. It turns Death’s world upside down. Not
knowing what else to do Death goes to Tommy to try and figure out what’s going
on. He doesn’t, but Death starts up a friendship with Tommy that soon becomes
more.
5. What is the personal goal of the
character?
To be happy. Death has been on his
own since the beginning of time and he doesn’t really like any of the other
immortals around him. When Tommy sees him, even though it scares the crap out
of Death, he is given a chance to find happiness.
6. Is there a working title for this
novel, and can we read more about it?
The title is Death Gets a Boyfriend. The novella is in production now so I can’t
release too much, but keep checking back here for the latest information
7. When can we expect the book to be
published?
Death Gets a Boyfriend will be published in early fall by Dreamspinner Press.
