Thursday Update-9/25/14

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday! Well, "Death Gets a Boyfriend" is finally released. It has been a crazy week as I have worked to get ready for the release and with the blog tours and the release parties and everything else I haven't gotten much done. But I am so proud of this book and I hope that everyone out there loves it as much as I do.

Sadly, that is about all I have for you this week. I have done a little more work on HWHGML, but not too much as my week has been consumed with the release. Hopefully, I will have more to report next week as things start to calm down. Until then, have a great weekend everyone!

Thursday Update-9/18/14

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday!! I hope everyone is having a good week. I know I am. Here's what's going on in my world.

The Blog Tour for Death Gets a Boyfriend has begun! Today marks the fourth day and I am super excited about all of the great feedback I am getting. If you haven't taken the time to check it out or enter the giveaway there is still lots of time. You can keep up to date on all of my spots here and on my social media pages. And don't forget, Death Gets a Boyfriend comes out on the 24th!!!

Other than working on my tour, I spent some time this week on HWHGML. The story is coming along nicely, albeit a little slower than I wanted. But as long as I get a great story at the end, it doesn't really matter, right?

Also, things are really coming together for GRL. I have ordered so much fun stuff and I can't wait to show everyone. I have banners, postcard, bookmarks, swag, markers, mugs and so much more. Is it October yet??

I think that's about it! I am going to be on WON Radio on Sunday at 9 PM EST talking about LGBT literature if anyone wants to tune it. I will post the link here as soon as I have it. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Thursday Update-9/11/14

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday! Before I begin telling you about my week, I want to send out a special message to all of my American readers. Today is a truly dark day in our history as today marks the 13th Anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. We all have our stories about where we were when it happened and how it changed us. But I don't want to go into that. I don't want to dwell on the darkness. Instead, I want to remind everyone that out of that pain and horror came great things. Patriotism, courage, honor and generosity were just a few things that came out of that day. And as we move forward, I wish that we could remember those things not just today but everyday.

And on with the update...

The blog tour for Death Gets a Boyfriend starts on Monday!! So, of course, I am trying to get together all of the blog posts I need for this week and beyond. It is going to be a really exciting tour and I hope you will be coming along for the ride. The schedule will be released tomorrow so stay tuned!

I am also working on His World, His Game, My Love. That is coming along well, but I have a ways to go. I am not sure that I will be able to finish the first draft by the end of the month like I originally wanted, but that's okay. It is more important that I get the story done the right way.

Also, while this has less to do with writing, I wanted to remind everyone that I was a featured guest on "Bibliophiles-Whatcha Reading" on Sunday. The link to listen is below. I will also be on WON Radio this coming Sunday as part of the Spectrum series, talking about LGBT literature. So tune it at 9 EST for that!

I think that's about it for now. Don't forget to stay up-to-date on my blog tour by coming right here. Have a great weekend everyone!

Thursday Update-9/4/14

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday! And welcome to another writing update. This week has been a lot more productive than the last few weeks. Here's what I have done:

Obviously, as the release for Death Gets a Boyfriend gets closer I have more and more work to do for the blog tour. The book releases on Sept. 24th, but the tour starts on the 15th. So that is coming up in a week and a half and I am working on lots of exciting posts and interviews for everyone to read. I am also working on some other marketing campaigns with DSP. More details on that later. And while everyone can and should keep up with the blog tour you don't have to wait to preorder. Just go here. And there is a 25% sale going on until tomorrow so hurry up and get your copy now!

Also, this week I have resumed work on my WIP His World, His Game, My Love. It's been a long time since I actually sat down and worked on one of my novels and I have to say it feels really good. I wrote about a chapter and a half, so while I have a long way to go I feel better than I am writing again.

More exciting news. If you are too impatient to wait for Death Gets a Boyfriend, I wrote the featured short story for the August Harmony Ink Newsletter. You can read the story (and the rest of the newsletter) here. Enjoy!

I think that's about it for now. But be sure to stay tuned for  Have a great weekend everyone!

The Saga of Steve and Joey-Part 35

Hello everyone and Happy Monday! Also, I want to wish all of my fellow Americans a Happy Labor Day! But more than that, today is a special day because today is the day The Saga of Steve and Joey ends. It has been a great ride with 35 parts and almost 30K words. I want to thank all of my loyal readers who have stuck by and read the whole thing. It has been a joy to write this for you. But even though this story will be ending, it will not be the last time we see Steve, Joey and Aiden. I will still be posting parts every once in a while. And even though there won't be any more regular posts, there will be another free read serial coming in the next couple of months. So stay tuned for that. And in the meantime, enjoy the final part in The Saga of Steve and Joey!

Part 35
Steve
Smiling, I hang up the phone and put it back on the charger before leaning back into Joey, wrapping an arm around him.
“He sounds good,” Joey commenting, looking up at me from his spot on the couch.
“You sound surprised at that.”
“Hey, remember I met you when you were still a med student. I know how hard it is.”
“True. But I know Maggie is helping him.”
Joey curls into me a little bit more. “Well, as much as I like her and I do, I remember how some nights you were so wrapped up in your work you barely knew I existed. I’m sure there are time Aiden ignores his girlfriend too.”
I lean down and kiss the top of his head. “I always knew you existed. Even during the times when I was totally wrapped up in my work, I always knew you were there.”
“I guess that’s why I married you. Because I was more important to you than the central nervous system.”
I can’t help but laugh. “Of course you are. You know that.”
“Sure, I do. But I’m allowed to give you a hard time every once in a while.”
I smile again before falling into silence. After so many years together, I am finding some of my favorite moments are these: where I can hold Joey in my arms and just be. He fits so perfectly there, our breaths in near perfect rhythm.
“It’s going to be our thirty year wedding anniversary next month,” Joey says breaking my silence.
“I know. Can you believe it has been so long?”
“Not really. But then again I can’t remember my life without you.”
“I can. But I don’t think I want to.”
Joey turns a little in my arms and stares up at me. “You’ve given me everything, Steve. You know that, right? I mean you have given me the family I lost when I came out, a wonderful home and helped me raise our son to become an amazing man.”
“Hey, you have given me all of those things too, you know. It’s not a one-way street.”
“I know. It’s just crazy to think that we have been together so long.”
“But it’s been a good ride.”
Joey stretches up so he can press a gentle kiss to my lips. “It’s been the best,” he whispers.
Kissing Joey ever so softly, I think about how right he is. We may have had our ups and downs, but I wouldn’t change my life with him for anything. After all, Joey and Aiden were my family. My everything. And that’s how it will be forever.
The End

And that’s it! I hope you have all enjoyed The Saga of Steve and Joey. I will be back with another free read saga later in the year, but for now, catch up on all my free reads here
